Valentine’s Production Benefits Women’s Organization
ATLANTA – The women of Oglethorpe University and the department of theatre present a special Valentine’s week production of Eve Ensler’s award-winning play The Vagina Monologues February 15 through 17 at 8:00 p.m. in Lupton Auditorium as a benefit to end violence against women.
The performance features women’s lively accounts about what it means to be female.
Their stories are funny and moving, forthright and refreshingly open. Through benefit
productions like this one, V-Day, a global movement to end violence against women and
girls, has raised over $40 million and educated millions about the issue of violence
against women and the efforts to end it. V-Day has funded over 5,000
community-based anti-violence programs, reopened shelters and supported safe houses
across America and in Kenya, Egypt and Iraq.
Written by Eve Ensler and directed by Heather DeVaney ’09. Tickets: $5 general admission (including Oglethorpe faculty, staff and alumni), $2 for students with Oglethorpe ID. Mature content. For more information call 404.504.1074.
