Students Tour Carter Center
ATLANTA – Oglethorpe University’s Center for Civic Engagement sponsors an OUr Atlanta trip for 22 students Saturday, April 5, from 9:30 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. to The Carter Center. This trip allows students to learn more about traveling in the city, tour The Carter Center and dine at Manuel’s Tavern in Virginia-Highland.
OUr Atlanta is an initiative that offers Oglethorpe freshmen real-life, in-depth experiences at Atlanta’s top arts, athletic, business, research and civic enterprises. Atlanta provides a fertile ground for learning opportunities that enhance students’ college experiences. Immersing students in what Atlanta has to offer stimulates thoughts of what the student may in turn offer the city.
Other OUr Atlanta trips include the 7 Stages Theatre in Little Five Points, a Thrasher’s game in Philips Arena, a tour of the CDC, The Atlanta History Center, Woodruff Arts Center, Fernbank, The King Center, World of Coke, CNN and the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.
