Students Volunteer at MedShare International
ATLANTA –Oglethorpe University’s Center for Civic Engagement will sponsor a student volunteer project at MedShare International Saturday, February 9, from noon until 5:00 p.m. This is the university’s second service trip to MedShare.
MedShare International,a metro-Atlanta based non-profit focusing on healthcare disparities in the economically developing world takes excess medical goods from United States hospitals, packs them into containers and ships them to other countries. Selling the supplies for about 5% of their U.S.cost, MedShare has sent containers to 87 countries. Student volunteers will help sort and organize donations at MedShare’s warehouse in Decatur.
