Juried Pastel Exhibition in Atlanta

ATLANTA – Oglethorpe University Museum of Art presents the Southeastern Pastel Society's 13th International Open Exhibition Friday, June 13 through August 10. The opening reception will be held Thursday, June 12, from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. in the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art (4484 Peachtree Rd. NE).

This exhibit features70of the bestpastel paintings selected fromamong 280 submissions by artists throughout the United States, Europe and Japan. The works will be juried by Bill Hosner, a well-known pastel artist whose work is knownthroughout the United States and Europe.Among his other honors, he is a member ofthe Master Pastelist Circle of the International Association of Pastel Societies,the highest recognition a pastel artist can achieve.

The Southeastern Pastel Society was established in 1987 dedicated to promoting pastel as a medium in the Southeast. The society sponsors annual exhibitions, alternating betweena Members Juried Exhibition and an International Exhibition.

The museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. Guided tours are available Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Free and ample parking is available. Admission: $10 per person; $5 for students and senior citizens, free for museum members, children under 12.
