Realism Explored in Rubin Gallery
ATLANTA – Oglethorpe University Museum of Art’s permanent collection will be on display Friday, June 13 through September 20 in the Rubin Gallery. The gallery named after Oglethorpe alumnus Donald Rubin ’56, was established earlier this year as a partnership with the Rubin Museum of Art in New York.
A New View of Realism will focus on new ideas of realism by displaying the breadth of the museum's fine collection. The Oglethorpe University Museum of Art’s permanent collection includes paintings, sculpture, prints and photography.
The Southeastern Pastel Society's 13th International Open Exhibition will also be on display in the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art this summer. The exhibition will be held in the Skylight and South Galleries Friday, June 13 through August 10.
The museum will be open Tuesday through Sunday from noon until 5:00 p.m. Guided tours are available Sundays at 2:00 p.m. Free and ample parking is available. Admission: $10 per person; $5 for students and senior citizens, free for museum members, children under 12.
