The Prairie Winds Visit Atlanta
ATLANTA – The Prairie Winds Woodwind Quintet will perform at Oglethorpe University’s Conant Performing Arts Center on February 14 at 8:00 p.m. The Prairie Winds’ humorous anecdotes, virtuosic playing and peerless ensemble make this an evening of entertainment and an opportunity to hear some of the country's finest wind playing.
This Valentine’s Day concert will feature music by Anton Reicha, Malcolm Arnold, Jean Philippe Rameau and Endre Szervansky plus romantic arias by Giacomo Puccini and Latin American Heat by various South American composers. Since their debut in 1996, The Prairie Winds have captivated audiences throughout the United States with performances that entertain as well as enlighten. These musicians from the Chicago Symphony and the Lyric Opera of Chicago blend powerful musical technique with humor and intriguing background information to create what one critic called "a unique approach to the shaping of the concert experience (that) is sure to keep them in demand" (Tryon Daily Bulletin).
Tickets: $10 general admission; available only at the door beginning at 7:00 p.m. For more information call 404.364.8429.
